Gardening for Disabled Trust
Aims to help disabled people enjoy gardening. Activities include: grants for adapting private gardens to meet the needs of disabled people; grants for tools, raised beds, paving and greenhouses; help with adapted gardens in hospitals, institutions and schools; distribution of information on garden equipment and techniques. The Garden Club run by the Trust also provides advice on garden design, answers questions, exchanges plants and seeds and publishes a quarterly newsletter. Contact by letter only.

Get Kids Going
Aims to provide children with sports wheelchairs and give an opportunity for participation in sports through help with training and travel to sporting events. Guideposts Trust Independent Living Centre
Independent Living Centre which provides information on products and organistions to assist people with disabilities and older people to increase and maintain their independence. This is a free service available to any adult residing in Oxfordshire. They have access to equipment for viewing and demonstration to enable moving around in the house or outside, reaching things, preparing or eating food, getting in or out of bed, using the bathroom, going up and down stairs or steps. An Information Line is available on 01235 524857 (Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm) which provides information such as where to hire a wheelchair, where to find accessible holiday accommodation, how to find a local or national support group for a particular illness. A Resource Handbook is also available on their website. The Centre is open 5 days a week for general viewing. An appointment is necessary to ensure that the equipment required is available. An Occupational Therapist (OT) is available by appointment on a Monday or Tuesday.
