Handicapped Aid Trust
Provide towards the cost of helpers of severely disabled people on holidays where these costs cannot be met by the helper, or from any other source, and where the disabled person would be unable to go on holiday without someone to assist him or her with everyday needs. Applications on the Trust's own forms must be supported by a bona fide organisation, doctor or social worker, willing to verify that the applicant meets the scheme's requirements. Minimum age is 17 years. Assistance towards holidays provided by local authorities will not be considered.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
Provide trained dogs to assist profoundly deaf people by alerting them to specific sounds, for example doorbell, telephones, smoke alarms using a paw to "touch" before either leading to the sound or lying down to indicate danger. The dogs also provide companionship, restore confidence and feelings of security.

Herpes Viruses Association

Homeshare International
Principle: A householder (often an older person) offers accommodation to a homesharer (often a student) in exchange for an agreed level of help (cleaning, shopping, accompanying out, etc.). The householder may need help with the household tasks, or some financial support, or a combination of both. Homeshare programmes in the UK are available in London, Bristol, Oxford, East Sussex and Somerset.
