Paget Gorman Society
Helps children and young people with speech and language disorders to communicate and develop functional language through the use of Paget Gorman Signed Speech (PGSS). PGSS is a manual signing system which reflects normal patterns of English with reference to the main grammatical features of the language. Pension Service
Aims to improve the service people receive, whether they are already a pensioner or are planning for their retirement, no matter how far off it might be. Activities include: working out the amount of State Retirement Pension and Minimum Income Guarantee that people are entitled to. Paying entitlements and answering questions over the phone and by post (or by email where possible). Telling people how they can access other pension-related entitlements and services. People Matter IW
People Matter IW has developed an Independent Living Centre at Bernard Way in Newport - near the Post Office depot. The Independent Living Centre offers a free and impartial service to Island residents who are looking for equipment and advice to enhance their independence. People who require support are assessed to see which aids and adaptations might meet their needs. They are able to try out a range of different equipment to help them to decide what is best for them. The centre has areas set up as the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom to enable people to try out aids and adaptations in a more realistic setting. The aim of the service is to enable people to try before they buy.

Percy Bilton Charity

Perthes Association
Aims to help families of children and adults suffering from Perthes disease (a form of Osteochondritis), and associated conditions including Multiple Epiphyseal Dysplasia, Kholer's Disease, Osgood-Schlatter's Disease, Larsen-Johansson Syndrome, Panner's Disease, Schuermann's Disease and Sever's Disease. Helps and advises families of children suffering from Perthes' disease and associated conditions. Volunteers are 'at the end of the telephone line' for any worried or distressed parents, and will visit them if possible or put them in touch with a family living locally. Advice on practical and financial help available for a child suffering from Perthes' disease, or MED (Multiple Epiphyseal Dysplasia). Have supported families and supplied equipment for children with CDH (Congenital Dislocation of the Hip). Family membership available.

Pilgrimage Trust
Aim to assist around 2,000 children with disabilities mainly from the British Isles, in making a pilgrimage to Lourdes at Easter and to ensure adequate provision of voluntary medical and nursing helpers to accompany them. Polka Theatre for Children
Theatre which is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, all year except September. The main auditorium is wheelchair accessible via a lift. The theatre is equipped for hearing aid users via an induction loop system. Signed performances are offered for main theatre shows. The theatre provides organised workshops on drama, crafts and puppetry. In-school workshops can be arranged for children who cannot travel. Psoriasis Association
Founded in 1968 and has become an important self-help organisation providing support and mutual aid for sufferers. It is also the main source of information on all aspects of the condition.
