Walking alarms; exit from property

The alarms in this section are designed to monitor the movements of a person who is prone to walking around the home (also known as wandering), raising an alert if they approach or go through a specific door. Also included are sensor beam operated wandering alarms which could be set up to monitor the use of a door. The sensor beam alarms may use passive infrared movement detectors or use two sensors with a beam between them. If the beam is broken, for example by someone walking past, then the alarm sounds. Alarms to help detect wandering are also available as part of a telecare system, for more information refer to the Telecare section.
