Children's outdoor powered wheelchairs and add-on powered units

The wheelchairs in this section are able to negotiate rough or uneven ground, climb kerbs up to 13cm and are generally too large for indoor use. Most have large front drive wheels which may make sideways transfers more difficult. The rear wheel castor steering can take longer for some users to master initially. They have a greater range. Either they cannot be dismantled at all for transportation or they have a limited number of detachable parts and require a car ramp, hoist, lift or trailer. Also included are add-on powered units designed for attachment to a manual wheelchair in order to provide powered propulsion.
