Children's powered wheelchairs with reclining backrest mechanism

This section includes powered wheelchairs with an adjustable angle backrest or a mechanism to fully or semi-recline the backrest. The greater the degree of recline the more support the backrest will give to the head. The recline mechanism can be either powered or manually operated by the user or carer. Backrest angles may be set or variable between upright and fully reclined. On models that recline substantially the leg rests also need to elevate. The wheelbase of these chairs is longer to provide the necessary stability. A tilt-in-space facility where backrest to seat angle is maintained may be more appropriate for some children.
